It’s All Crazy! It’s All False! It’s All A Dream! It’s Alright is more of an event than an album with a dynamic and diverse selection of songs that are well-thought and absolutely well-written. From the opening glimpse of “Every Thought A Thought Of You,” mewithoutYou already scored!
The piano melody coupled by Aaron Weiss’ distinct voice over gratuitous guitar overlays make a perfect balance, like magic. The enigmatic “Bullet To Binary (Pt. Two)” brings out the best that mewithoutYou has to offer from brilliant, playful lyrics to an ingenious arrangement that caters completely to the vocal integrity of the song. The calming peaceful intro of “King Beetle On A Coconut Estate” aided by a beautiful string arrangement sounds immaculate before exploding into an architectural structure of sound, creating a colossal wall of sound.
To me, this album is like a nomad that ends up at different places every night and experiences different situations everyday. I’m not too crazy over Aaron Weiss’ vocal s but his high-intellect and lyrical mastery is something to be inspired about. mewithoutYou is surprisingly nothing like you’ve ever heard before. The mixture of different genres such as indie, folk, rock and others really create something out of the ordinary. It’s All Crazy! It’s All False! It’s All A Dream! It’s Alright is a grand album built on a large scale. Pick yourself up a copy and get lost in it. “Allah, Allah, Allah!”
